UPCOMING EVENTS, NEWS & NOTES:

  • INCOMING 6TH GRADERS:  keep your mind sharp over the summer; don't let your knowledge & skills "slide" back.  BE READY FOR A CHALLENGING, AND REWARDING, 6TH GRADE YEAR!
HERE'S WHAT YOU SHOULD SHOW UP WITH ON THE FIRST DAY OF 6th GRADE:
  1. A GREAT ATTITUDE AND A WILLINGNESS TO WORK HARD AND TRY NEW THINGS
  2. A GOOD BOOK TO READ
  3. A 3-RING BINDER, at least 2" in depth
  4. 5-TAB SUBJECT DIVIDERS IN YOUR BINDER (ONE FOR EACH SUBJECT)
  5. 20-30 SHEETS OF LOOSE-LEAF NOTEBOOK PAPER (COLLEGE-RULED); PLEASE, DON'T RELY ON "TEAR-OUT" SPIRAL NOTEBOOKS FOR PAPER!
  6. PENCIL POUCH (NOT A PENCIL BOX!), FILLED WITH:
  • 3-5 WOODEN PENCILS--not "clicker" pencils!
  • PENCIL SHARPENER
  • 2-3 PENS (BLUE OR BLACK)
  • *1 pad of POST-IT type "stickies"
  • RED PEN
  • 1-2 HIGHLIGHTERS
  • RULER, PROTRACTOR & COMPASS
  • OPTIONAL ITEMS: scissors, markers, colored pencils, glue, stickers, and anything else you'd like or feel you might need to be successful!
Room 405 is also requesting donations of Kleenex & hand sanitizer pump bottles to help keep us clean, healthy & learning throughout the year.  Thanks in advance for all your help, hard work & support!  See you all soon!

      6th graders:  don't miss out on SCIENCE CAMP, MUSIC CLASSES or PENTATHLON.  The only thing that you'll regret is that you didn't "go for it" this year!  Remember, you only do 6th grade once; make it a great experience.
